Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with electrophysiology procedures including arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation and cardiac mapping with precision and patient safety top of mind
- Support pacemaker and AICD procedures — from insertion and programming to lead extraction/removal when needed
- Administer and monitor medications used in EP care (antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, thrombolytics) and respond to dysrhythmias
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead ECGs and participate in cardioversion and conduction studies
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure accurate, accessible patient records
- Educate patients and families about procedures, lifestyle changes and medication adherence to improve outcomes
- Collaborate with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Float between like units as needed within your skillset to support staffing and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years EP Lab or outpatient cardiology clinic experience (required)
- Background in cardiology and electrophysiology — hands-on EP Lab experience preferred
- Proven experience with EPIC charting (experience required)
- Comfortable with advanced EP procedures: pacemaker/AICD management, LAA closure (Watchman), ablation and mapping
- BLS certification preferred
- First-time travelers accepted; travel experience is not required
- Able to float between similar units as needed and work collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac ablation and cardiac mapping techniques
- Pacemaker and defibrillator insertion, programming and lead extraction/removal
- Left atrial appendage (LAA) closure procedures, including Watchman
- Arrhythmia induction, conduction studies and cardioversion
- ECG / 12-lead acquisition and interpretation
- Medication management relevant to EP: antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, thrombolytics
- Proficient EPIC charting and clinical documentation
- Patient education, risk factor modification counseling and device clinic familiarity
- Quality improvement mindset and strong team collaboration skills
