Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and provide directional support to the outpatient nursing team
• Perform and record QC testing on designated equipment to ensure safe practice
• Schedule nurse visits for phlebotomy, testing and other outpatient procedures
• Administer immunizations, injections and oral medications accurately and safely
• Draw and prepare lab specimens for pickup and ensure proper labeling and handling
• Handle clinic telephone triage with provider input to deliver timely patient care
• Cover medical assistant duties as needed to maintain smooth clinic flow
• Coach and mentor teammates while maintaining high standards of patient care

Qualifications

• Current CA LVN license required
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations
• Minimum 1 year of Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
• Minimum 2 years of overall outpatient clinical experience
• Phlebotomy and IV certification required
• Previous charge or lead experience required
• Experience with CS Link and Epic charting systems
• Weekend and holiday availability required as part of a rotating schedule
• Pending licenses are not accepted; locals within a 50-minute commute are welcome

Education

• Completion of an accredited LVN/Vocational Nursing program
• Active CA LVN licensure (license is required for hire)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
• Proficient in vaccine administration and medication administration (IM, SQ, oral)
• Comfortable with urgent care triage and fast-paced outpatient workflows
• Experience charting in Epic and navigating CS Link
• Ability to perform basic EKGs, wound care and Foley catheter insertion as needed
• Strong vital sign monitoring and clinical assessment skills
• Familiarity with isolation precautions, PPE and emergency response protocols
• Excellent communication for patient interactions and phone triage
