Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamics with precision to support patient safety
- Set up, operate, and maintain EP and cath lab equipment for a wide range of procedures
- Perform accurate EKG lead placement and continuous rhythm surveillance
- Assist with device procedures including permanent pacemaker insertion and AICD programming
- Support cardiac ablation, mapping, cardioversion and electrophysiology studies as scrub or circulator
- Prepare access sites and maintain sterile technique to reduce infection risk
- Chart procedures and patient updates accurately in EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: ARRT-R and CCI RCIS
- Minimum 1 year of relevant electrophysiology or cath lab experience (first-timers accepted)
- Comfortable serving in scrub and circulator roles during EP and cardiac cath procedures
- Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias
- Willingness to include all requested RTO in submittal (per facility request)
- Note for travelers: local applicants with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract
Knowledge & Skills
- Electrophysiology and cardiac catheterization procedures
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- EKG lead placement and temporary/permanent pacemaker support
- AICD insertion/programming and cardiac ablation/mapping
- Sterile technique, infection control and maintaining a sterile field
- Experience as scrub and room circulator, including equipment setup and maintenance
- Familiarity with EPIC charting
- Comfort with advanced devices: IABP, Impella, VADs, and LAA closure procedures
