Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub complex open cardiac cases and support the surgical team with precision and composure
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure surgical field integrity for every procedure
• Prepare, organize and manage case carts and crash carts to keep the OR running smoothly
• Assist with line insertions and act as a competent circulating tech when required
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia and perioperative staff to deliver exceptional patient care
• Document procedures and chart in Epic as required, ensuring accurate patient records
• Support pediatric congenital cardiac cases and specialized cardiothoracic procedures when needed

Qualifications

• Recent and verifiable CARDIAC experience — this is a hard stop requirement
• Minimum 2 years CVOR or cardiac OR experience
• Washington state license (required) and BLS certification (required)
• ASATT and/or NBSTSA preferred — highlight these if you have them
• Comfort and competence scrubbing open cardiac cases; robotic cardiac experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
• Willingness to accept on-call responsibilities (1x/week) and intermittent weekend on-call rotation

Education

• Not specifically stated — relevant Surgical Technologist certification or equivalent preferred (ASATT/NBSTSA preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven CVOR skills including cardiac scrub and ability to scrub open cardiac cases
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and intraoperative safety
• Experience with case cart and crash cart management
• Ability to circulate and assist with line insertions
• Familiarity with cardiothoracic procedures: CABG, TAVR, VAD, mitral valve work, EVAR/TEVAR and more
• Robotic cardiac surgery exposure preferred (cardiothoracic robotic surgery)
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, Level II Trauma/Teaching hospital environment
