Shift Type: Night 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (typical pattern: 3 nights per week) with every other/third weekend coverage required; floating within the OSU system required; Night

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage progressive care patients using telemetry and bedside assessment
- Provide specialized wound, burn dressing and flap care, including leech therapy monitoring
- Initiate and maintain IV therapy, PICC and central line care and arterial line management
- Administer medications and blood products safely using Pyxis and EPIC documentation
- Respond to emergencies and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams
- Perform feeding tube care and support respiratory needs including oxygen and non-invasive airway management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — PT, respiratory, pharmacy, social work and transport — to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Document care accurately in EPIC and support quality and safety initiatives on the unit
Qualifications
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2+ years recent PCU or stepdown experience with similar patient population
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Proven skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management and blood product administration
- Comfort with special procedures common to plastics/burn patients (flap checks, burn dressings, leech therapy)
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Ability to float within the OSU organization as needed and work required weekend coverage
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication systems
- Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
- Wound care expertise including wound vac and skin graft monitoring
- Skilled in IV access: starting/maintaining peripheral IVs, PICC and central line care
- Familiar with arterial lines, blood product administration and heparin/insulin protocols
- Comfortable with procedural sedation monitoring, epidural analgesia and titrating cardiac drips where applicable
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and use rapid response/code teams effectively
- Competent in feeding tube care, respiratory support (oxygen/non-invasive airway) and isolation precautions/PPE
