Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating nights with every-other-weekend coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert progressive care nursing for telemetry and medically complex patients on the PCU
- Perform and interpret EKG monitoring and complete EKG competency exam (must pass)
- Use the NIH Stroke Scale to assess and document stroke-related changes promptly
- Administer medications, IV therapies and titrated drips within your scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to create and update individualized care plans
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Float between like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
- Support safe handoffs, patient advocacy and family communication during transitions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of North Carolina (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (PCU/telemetry experience strongly preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Must pass the facility EKG exam with no exceptions
- Comfortable with PCU ratios (typically 1:4-5) and night-shift workflow
- Willingness to work every-other-weekend and float within scope
- First-time travel RNs are welcome
Education
- Active RN licensure required (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing commonly accepted; BSN preferred where available)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac rhythm recognition / EKG proficiency
- Progressive care nursing principles and patient assessment
- NIH Stroke Scale application and stroke recognition
- Familiarity with Epic charting and electronic health records
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with IV/drip management and titration
