Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist interventional radiologists during procedures by preparing the room, instruments and imaging equipment
• Operate and monitor fluoroscopy and related imaging devices safely and effectively
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure strict infection control throughout procedures
• Closely monitor patients before, during and after procedures, documenting observations in Epic
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and techs to coordinate efficient patient flow and timely care
• Perform quality control and routine maintenance on imaging equipment and report issues promptly
• Educate patients and families about procedures and provide compassionate support
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and departmental policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience (MUST have IR experience)
• Current Radiologic Technologist licensure appropriate for practice in North Carolina (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS and NIH certifications required
• Proven experience charting in Epic
• Willingness to work day shifts, every-other-weekend rotation and required call
• Ability to float within scope to support like units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of interventional radiology procedures and sterile technique
• Fluoroscopy and imaging equipment operation and safety
• Patient monitoring, assessment and post-procedure care
• Radiation safety principles and safe handling of contrast
• Proficient Epic charting and documentation skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
