Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to inform care planning
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
• Administer medications safely and document all medication-related activities
• Deliver therapeutic communication and crisis intervention to support emotional stability
• Monitor patient well-being and progress, adjusting care plans as needed
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and recovery strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create a safe, healing environment

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma nursing license required (must be active at time of submission)
• Minimum 6 months of Children Behavioral Health experience — required
• BLS (AHA) certification — required prior to start
• Handle with Care certification — preferred
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Demonstrated experience with medication administration, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication
• Comfortable working in an acute behavioral health setting and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active Oklahoma license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and treatment planning for pediatric behavioral health
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Therapeutic communication techniques tailored to children and families
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies
• Clinical documentation and electronic health record familiarity
• Ability to monitor and report changes in patient condition
• Strong collaboration and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
