Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to identify needs and strengths
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with patients and families
- Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses with careful attention
- Provide therapeutic communication and crisis intervention to support stabilization and recovery
- Monitor patient well-being, document clinical changes, and maintain accurate, timely records
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure a safe therapeutic environment
Qualifications
- Active Oklahoma state nursing license required (must be active at time of submission)
- BLS (AHA) certification required prior to start
- Minimum 6 months of Children Behavioral Health experience — required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Medication administration experience and strong clinical documentation skills
- Handle with Care Certification preferred (nice-to-have)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in patient assessment and treatment planning for pediatric behavioral health
- Skilled in medication administration and monitoring
- Therapeutic communication and crisis intervention expertise
- Accurate clinical documentation and electronic charting
- Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Comfort working in an acute care hospital setting with children and families
