Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the Occupational Therapist by delivering hands-on therapy and personalized treatment activities
- Monitor and document patient progress to guide care plans and celebrate milestones
- Teach patients and caregivers practical skills for improved independence and daily living
- Encourage and motivate patients through recovery with empathy and clear communication
- Maintain treatment rooms and equipment so therapy sessions run safely and smoothly
- Collect patient histories and update records to ensure accurate, coordinated care
- Assist injured employees in regaining motor skills with the goal of returning to work
Qualifications
- COTA license - Required
- BLS (AHA) certification - Required
- CPR certification - Required
- Missouri state license (Compact allowed) - Required
- 2 years of OT experience - Preferred
- LTC (Long Term Care) or Rehab experience - Preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Occupational Therapy principles and treatment implementation
- Patient monitoring and progress tracking
- Documentation best practices and electronic record updates
- Patient education and family/caregiver training
- Equipment maintenance and safe use of therapy tools
- Collecting and interpreting patient histories to inform care
