Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, mobility and toileting — with respect and dignity
- Take and record vital signs accurately and escalate changes to the nursing team
- Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to patients and families
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Document patient care thoroughly and communicate handoffs clearly to the care team
- Support nursing staff with procedures and daily unit operations to keep things running smoothly
- Participate in training and competency checks to keep skills sharp and current
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- License/Certificate Verification completed prior to start
- Ability to pass VHC drug screen and required health screenings
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as listed in job requirements
- Professional, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited/state-approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and safe transfer techniques
- Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection control practices and use of PPE
- Clear, timely documentation and care reporting
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize care tasks
- Compassionate patient interaction and cultural sensitivity
