Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Perform safe transfers and mobility assistance following facility protocols
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to create a positive, respectful atmosphere for residents and families
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in New York
- Experience in long term care preferred but new grads with strong caregiving skills are welcome
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward older adults
- Ability to safely perform resident transfers and physical tasks required for the role
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident support
- Basic infection control and safety procedures
- Comfortable with charting and documenting care accurately
- Good teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with licensed nursing staff
