Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Take and document vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support mobility and safe transfers to promote independence and reduce fall risk
- Follow care plans and contribute observations that help tailor resident care
- Perform infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Communicate compassionately with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Complete required documentation and competency checks in a timely manner
- Participate in facility-specific training such as Trinity competency testing to ensure high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (state-appropriate) and willingness to verify licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing as part of onboarding
- Ability and willingness to complete health requirements: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, respirator evaluation, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, and influenza vaccine
- Pass required license/certificate verification and background screening
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong resident-centered care and empathy for older adults
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, safe transfers, ADL assistance
- Infection prevention and proper PPE use including respirator protocols
- Clear written and verbal communication for accurate documentation and team handoffs
- Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment
- Comfort with facility-specific electronic documentation and competency testing
