Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care — assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support patient mobility and safe transfers, prioritizing dignity and comfort
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate observations to the care team
- Follow infection control protocols, including respirator use and fit-tested equipment
- Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and apply demonstrated skills to daily practice
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by communicating respectfully with patients and families
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing (required prior to assignment)
- License/Certificate verification as part of credentialing
- Ability to pass Trinity 10-panel drug screen and background checks
- Required immunizations/health screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines (or documented exemptions where applicable)
- Fit testing and respirator evaluation completion prior to assignment
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude suitable for per-diem pool work
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care skills and strong fundamentals as a CNA
- Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention and PPE best practices, including respirator use
- Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Ability to follow facility-specific protocols and specialty competency standards
- Adaptability to varied units and shift patterns in a per-diem pool
