Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
- Safely measure and record vital signs and patient observations
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning while following proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident status
- Follow infection control protocols and complete required screenings and testing
- Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and maintain required certifications
- Communicate clearly with nurses, care team members, residents, and families to support continuity of care
- Contribute to a positive, respectful care environment and support facility quality goals
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-certified) — required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
- License/Certificate Verification required prior to start
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing as part of onboarding
- Willingness and ability to complete health requirements: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, drug screen, immunizations and related paperwork
- Strong communication, teamwork, and a genuine desire to provide respectful patient-centered care
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible per diem shifts
Education
- Current CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
- Infection prevention and proper PPE use
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, patient transfers, feeding and hygiene assistance
- Familiarity with documentation best practices and facility charting systems
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills and professional bedside manner
- Comfort with competency testing processes and periodic re-evaluation
