Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care and assistance with activities of daily living for Mercy LIFE participants
- Support safe patient handling, hygiene, mobility assistance, and feeding as needed
- Perform basic clinical tasks within CNA scope and follow care plans developed by the care team
- Complete required Trinity Skills Checklist and participate in competency evaluations
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members
- Adhere to infection control practices and complete required health screenings and fit testing
- Demonstrate respect, dignity, and person-centered care in every interaction
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Massachusetts (License/Certificate Verification required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and successful competency validation
- Must meet required health screenings and immunizations: Fit Test, Respirator Evaluation, 10-panel drug screen, 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon), MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Physical/Health Statement, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, Influenza vaccine
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Professional, patient-centered approach with reliable attendance and flexibility
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs, bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control best practices
- Basic vital signs monitoring and observation/reporting of changes in condition
- Familiarity with documentation standards and care plan communication
- Ability to follow protocols like Trinity checklists and facility-specific procedures
- Compassionate patient interaction and effective teamwork
