Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Follow infection control practices and required immunization and screening protocols
- Complete documentation and skills checklists thoroughly and on time
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Participate in competency testing and skills validation as required
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or completion of an approved CNA program
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Must be able to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Successful License/Certificate Verification and Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen
- Up-to-date immunizations and screenings as required: COVID-19 vaccine, Influenza vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon)
- Current physical/health statement on file
Education
- Completion of state-approved CNA program or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hands-on resident care skills and ability to assist with ADLs
- Knowledge of infection control practices and proper PPE use
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with nursing staff
- Attention to detail for completing checklists, competency testing, and required screenings
- Professionalism, compassion, and respect for resident dignity and privacy
