Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care to residents, helping with daily living activities
- Assist nursing staff with vital signs, documentation, and observing changes in condition
- Support safe, person-centered care by following care plans and reporting concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, following infection control practices
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to promote comfort
- Participate in huddles and handoffs to ensure continuity and quality of care across shifts
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (AL or eligible for Alabama)
- Completed required health documentation: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap
- Up-to-date COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations as required by the facility
- Completed Physical/Health Statement and able to pass a Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen
- Comfortable working in a per diem pool with flexible scheduling
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Basic vital sign measurement and timely documentation
- Infection prevention practices and safe use of PPE
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and the care team
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate clinical changes appropriately
