Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and administer medically prescribed occupational therapy to support recovery and daily function
- Evaluate patients with mental, emotional and physical disabilities and create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver behavioral health interventions across age groups and document progress clearly
- Float to other units as needed and step into charge shifts when called upon
- Collaborate with nursing, psychiatry, social work and other disciplines to coordinate care
- Maintain required documentation, OT skills checklist and compliance with facility policies
- Participate in orientation and complete any mandated training (including onsite CPI if needed)
- Support continuity of care by making up missed shifts prior to contract end, per facility policy
Qualifications
- Licensed and NBCOT-certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT certification REQUIRED)
- Active Vermont OT license or Compact license at time of submission (DOCUMENT required)
- Minimum 3 years of OT experience; behavioral health experience preferred — behavioral experience must be within the last 3 months and listed on your resume
- American Heart Association BLS (AHA) required (DOCUMENT)
- Willingness to float to other units and accept charge shifts
- Driver’s license or candidate address required in submission packet (locals within 35 miles noted for facility policy)
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years and an OT skills checklist from within the last year (DOCUMENTS)
- Able to start on 2026-03-02 (no exceptions) and meet RTO limitations (RTO cannot exceed 7 days)
Education
- Professional degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s/OTD or equivalent professional OT degree preferred)
- NBCOT certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in Occupational Therapy evaluation and rehabilitation for behavioral health populations
- Experience with behavioral health treatment approaches and age-specific interventions
- Strong clinical documentation, care planning and outcome tracking
- Ability to lead and coordinate care when serving in a charge role
- Comfortable floating between units and adapting to varied patient populations
- Professional communication and teamwork within an interdisciplinary setting
- Familiarity with facility credentialing and submission requirements
