Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead pharmacy operations in an acute care hospital setting, guiding the team to deliver safe, efficient medication services
- Oversee scheduling and workflow management to optimize coverage and patient care
- Provide leadership support for IV compounding practices and ensure staff competency
- Review and update pharmacy policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
- Facilitate meetings and training sessions to build team skills and coordinate clinical initiatives
- Use medication dispensing systems (Pyxis) and BD suite tools to streamline operations and improve accuracy
- Drive detail-focused quality improvement efforts and mentor staff to promote best practices
Qualifications
- Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of California (required)
- Minimum two years of leadership experience in an acute care hospital pharmacy (required)
- Experience supervising pharmacy operations, scheduling, and workflow management
- Comfortable training staff and facilitating meetings to support operational goals
- Knowledge of USP standards and IV compounding best practices
- Familiarity with medication dispensing systems (Pyxis) and BD PK/C2 Safe
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Detail-oriented with strong communication and team leadership skills
Education
- Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy (preferred/expected for licensure)
- Pharm.D. degree preferred
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program preferred

- Pharmacy operations and supervision in acute care
- IV compounding and IV competency training
- Understanding of USP standards and compliance
- Scheduling and workflow optimization
- Policy review and process improvement
