Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity and respect
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility and feeding as part of the care plan
• Take and record vital signs and observations, reporting any changes promptly to the nurse or care manager
• Follow individualized care plans and participate in interdisciplinary team communication
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Document resident care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
• Encourage social engagement and emotional support to improve residents' quality of life

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification required (Class T-CNA preferred)
• Active CNA certification in good standing in the state of Maine or ability to obtain state authorization
• Previous experience as a nursing assistant preferred; enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass facility screenings, background checks and any required health clearances
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, safe resident transfer techniques
• Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
• Infection control principles and safe handling of equipment
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a busy shift
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to nursing staff clearly
