Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity and respect
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility and feeding as part of the care plan
- Take and record vital signs and observations, reporting any changes promptly to the nurse or care manager
- Follow individualized care plans and participate in interdisciplinary team communication
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Document resident care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
- Encourage social engagement and emotional support to improve residents' quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification required (Class T-CNA preferred)
- Active CNA certification in good standing in the state of Maine or ability to obtain state authorization
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant preferred; enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass facility screenings, background checks and any required health clearances
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, safe resident transfer techniques
- Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
- Infection control principles and safe handling of equipment
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a busy shift
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to nursing staff clearly
