Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition clearly and promptly
- Assist nursing staff with tasks such as vital signs, transfers, and personal care
- Document care accurately in the facility chart to ensure continuity and safety
- Support a positive, respectful environment — treat residents like family
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to help meet individualized care goals
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (WV certification preferred or ability to obtain)
- Recent experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Able to pass required background checks, drug screen, and facility onboarding
- Dependable, patient-focused attitude with strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Direct resident care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Basic infection control and proper PPE use
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Accurate charting and following care plans
