Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to adult patients on a busy 40-bed PCU unit
Monitor and titrate cardiac drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Interpret telemetry strips and respond promptly to patient changes
Collaborate with a supportive team of nurses, charge nurses, and patient care techs
Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed while maintaining PCU-level care standards
Champion patient experience by focusing on communication, responsiveness, and education

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Competency managing arterial lines
Minimum one year of recent PCU or telemetry experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with a 90 percent score during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong cardiac monitoring and drip titration skills
Comfort reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently
Flexibility to float between units and adapt to changing patient needs
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Cultural sensitivity when caring for diverse patient populations
