Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care across MedSurg and ER settings, floating as needed to support patient needs
• Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining continuity of care
• Titrate critical drips including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed with precision and safety
• Start IVs, manage PICC lines and ports, and respond swiftly to codes and traumas
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently using Mindray monitors
• Collaborate with minimal staffing to deliver high-quality care and coordinate with hospitalists
• Follow EMTALA regulations and coordinate flight transport for higher-level care when necessary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Minnesota or compact license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum ER experience to safely float between MedSurg and Emergency Department
• Comfortable working independently with minimal staff and direct hospitalist communication
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and independent strip interpretation
• IV starts, PICC/port management, and medication titration
• Code response for cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis situations
• Trauma response and stabilization prior to transfer
• EMTALA compliance and flight transport coordination
• Bipap, high-flow oxygen, and Hamilton T1 ventilator management
