Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing to aid physicians in detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
• Operate and maintain automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, and microscopes.
• Ensure accuracy and quality control of test results.
• Maintain laboratory information systems and computer records.
• Adhere to safety precautions and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA, Oregon DHS, CAP, and Joint Commission clinical laboratory personnel requirements.
• Associate's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science preferred, or equivalent certification/registry (ASCP, NCA, HEW).
• Working knowledge of LIS, HIS, automated analyzers, and standard lab techniques.

Education

• Associate's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science preferred
• Or equivalent education and certification per CLIA standards

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in LIS and HIS computer systems
• Experience with automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, and microscopes
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of standard medical laboratory techniques and safety precautions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
• Legible handwriting for documentation
