Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing to aid physicians in detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases
• Operate and maintain automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, and microscopes
• Ensure accurate and timely test results while adhering to safety protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare team to provide quality patient care
• Document and report laboratory findings using LIS and HIS systems

Qualifications

• Meet CLIA-88 and Oregon state regulations as clinical laboratory personnel
• Associate degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science preferred, or MLT registry with ASCP, NCA, or HEW (if obtained before 1992)
• Working knowledge of LIS and HIS computer systems, automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes, and Pevco pneumatic tube system
• Oregon state license required

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience; if high school diploma received after 1992, must have Associate degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to use personal computer and various software programs
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision
• Organizational skills with ability to multi-task and think critically
• General knowledge of medical laboratory techniques and safety precautions
• Legible handwriting
