Roles & Responsibilities

Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients of all ages in the acute care setting
Educate patients, families, and hospital staff on nutrition and dietary needs
Collaborate as a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics required
Registered Dietitian Credential by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) required
Completion of a CDR-accredited dietetics internship and approval to sit for the registration exam required
Current Dietitian licensure with the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services required
Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics highly preferred (for those completing coursework after January 1, 2024)
Registration-eligible or registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutrition expertise
Patient education and interdisciplinary teamwork
Registered Dietitian Certification and Kansas Dietitian Licensure
Nutrition education and counseling skills
