Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a 36-bed telemetry med-surg unit
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to rhythm changes using established protocols
• Perform thorough assessments and timely documentation in Cerner to keep the care team aligned
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
• Prepare patients for procedures (Endoscopy, IR, OR) and manage post-procedure care
• Support unit staffing and workflow, including stepping into charge duties when needed

Qualifications

• Current RN (Registered Nurse) credential (able to practice in NC)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Telemetry experience and comfort with remote cardiac monitoring
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• CMSRN encouraged (preferred but not required)
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• Willingness to work rotating nights and commit to required weekend coverage

Education

• Nursing diploma or Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficient with Cerner Patient Observation and electronic documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and clinical decision-making
• Ability to work in a fast-paced med-surg environment with excellent prioritization
• Team collaboration, communication, and basic leadership skills for unit support
• Familiarity with remote monitoring tools (VC150s and workstation-on-wheels workflows)
