Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate clinical care to patients within the Healthcare for the Homeless primary care program
• Collaborate with providers, clinic staff, and management to ensure high quality patient care and efficient clinic operations
• Maintain medication inventory and clinic supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system
• Perform and oversee Point of Care testing and complete required quality control checks
• Accurately document all care and services in the medical record in a timely manner
• Assist providers and anticipate staff needs to promote smooth clinic flow
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Participate in mandatory trainings, annual competencies, staff meetings, and educational programs

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska required at time of submittal
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proof of influenza vaccination required
• Minimum 2 years primary care experience
• Ability to complete fingerprinting as required by SEARHC prior to start
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and perform routine physical duties of nursing
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Registered Nursing license in Alaska (required at time of submittal)

• Nursing process and patient assessment skills
• Specimen collection and Point of Care testing proficiency
• Infection control and safety principles
• Medication inventory management
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Comfortable using computers and common medical equipment
• Customer service, critical thinking, and effective oral and written communication
