Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound exams across abdominal, OB, GYN, neonatal, superficial structures and vascular studies with accuracy and compassion
• Execute ultrasound-guided procedures including aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative imaging safely and proficiently
• Document findings clearly and promptly in Meditech EMR and archive studies in Fuji Synapse PACS
• Collaborate with radiologists, obstetric teams and clinical staff to support timely, patient-centered care
• Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment (Canon i700) and adhere to departmental quality assurance protocols
• Provide patient education and reassurance, adapting communication for pediatric, neonatal and adult populations
• Participate in on-call rotations and float to other units as needed to support clinical coverage

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification (AB) required
• ARDMS (OB) and RVT highly desirable/required per posting
• Active BLS certification — AHA required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an acute hospital setting performing diagnostic sonography
• Proven experience with ultrasound-guided procedures (aspiration, biopsy, drainage, intraoperative)
• Familiarity with Canon i700, Meditech EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS is a strong plus
• Comfortable working with neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, neonatal and vascular sonography
• Proficiency in carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper/lower extremity duplex exams
• Skilled in ultrasound-guided aspiration, biopsy and drainage techniques
• Able to interpret normal vs. pathological findings and escalate appropriately
• Competent with PACS and EMR workflows for image storage and reporting
• Excellent patient communication, triage judgment and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to floating assignments and variable scheduling
