Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during night shifts
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for changes
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care
- Support patient safety and infection control practices throughout the shift
- Assist with activities of daily living and ensure patient comfort
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required
- Active LPN license in New Mexico preferred or compact state authorization
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
- Previous LPN experience in long-term care or similar facility is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently overnight
Education
- Diploma or certificate in Practical Nursing (LPN) or equivalent program completion
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Wound care and basic restorative nursing knowledge
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
- Time management, prioritization, and critical thinking during night shifts
- Effective teamwork and clear communication with clinical colleagues
