Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-acuity nursing care for spinal, neuro, trauma and surgical patients
Assess, plan and implement individualized care for complex patients including gunshot wounds and spinal cord injuries
Collaborate closely with support staff such as phlebotomists, unit secretaries and nursing support techs to ensure smooth patient flow
Perform thorough handoffs with ED and admitting teams to maintain continuity of care
Monitor patient status and intervene promptly to ensure safe outcomes in a high-acuity environment

Qualifications

BLS required
ACLS preferred
EPIC experience required
Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (trauma/surgical/high acuity)
Comfort caring for spinal/neuro patients, quads and paraplegics
Experience working in high-acuity settings with typical patient ratios (example noted 5:1)

Knowledge & Skills

EPIC EHR proficiency (required)
High-acuity assessment and clinical decision-making
Trauma and surgical post-op care knowledge
Spinal and neuro patient management
Strong communication skills for effective nurse-to-nurse and interdisciplinary handoffs
Experience coordinating care with phlebotomists, nursing support techs and unit secretaries
