Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment so every case starts safely and on time.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-procedural patient assessments and monitoring, communicating abnormal findings immediately to the physician or NP.
• Assist physicians by circulating during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, EP, and neuro-interventional procedures (e.g., cath lab cases, EP studies/ablations, TAVR, LAAO, carotid stenting, thrombectomy).
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and monitor hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures.
• Document care and procedures in real time using electronic systems (MacLab/CardioLab) to ensure accurate procedure logs and handoffs.
• Participate in the Time-Out/Full Stop process and enforce safety protocols for patients and staff.
• Provide patient/family-centered care, ensuring comfort, privacy, and therapeutic environment throughout the peri-procedural period.
• Precept and support new staff members and contribute to unit education and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Procedural sedation experience preferred
• Preferred experience: Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU, or IMC (new grads and med/surg-only experience are not being considered)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate independently and document in MacLab/CardioLab
• Willingness to work variable shifts and respond to on-call pager

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate degree or Nursing Diploma acceptable if BSN obtained within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and peri-procedural cardiovascular care
• Cardiac monitoring and hemodynamics interpretation
• Sterile technique and circulating nurse duties
• Fluoroscopy familiarity and intra-cardiac ultrasound use
• Experience with EP procedures, device implants, and 3D mapping systems
• Real-time electronic documentation and procedure logging
• Ability to prepare procedure rooms and support a multidisciplinary team
