Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately for a 285-bed inpatient hospital, ensuring patient safety at every step
• Perform medication verification and lead sterile IV compounding processes using Dose Edge for verification
• Provide clinical dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants to optimize patient outcomes
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in Pyxis management, first dose delivery, and emergency medication boxes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on pain consults and other medication-related clinical interventions
• Document interventions and communicate clearly within the Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve workflow, medication safety, and patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in MO (required)
• Minimum ~2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience is a plus for consideration
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and performing sterile IV compounding

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication safety practices
• Proficiency with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• Comfortable with medication verification, sterile compounding, and automated dispensing systems
• Clinical dosing knowledge for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work with nursing and physician teams
• Ability to triage and prioritize in a busy hospital pharmacy environment
