Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Not specified (unit covers ICU and stepdown; floating between the two is possible — contact recruiter for exact shift times)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality critical care for neuro patients in both ICU and stepdown settings
Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, including NIHSS, and act on findings
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure credentials and skills checklist are up to date
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge needs
Safely float between units as needed while maintaining continuity of care

Qualifications

Active RN license (Nursys license verification required)
Neuro unit specific experience clearly shown on work history
Minimum 2 years of experience in the neuro specialty
Proficiency with NIHSS documented on profile
Current Certification Card and completed Skills Checklist
Resume with no gaps greater than 60 days and badge-appropriate photo/demographic info uploaded

Knowledge & Skills

Strong neuro ICU nursing skills and neurological assessment ability
NIHSS competency and documentation
Critical care and trauma-level experience relevant to similar sized facilities
Comfort floating between ICU and stepdown with adaptable clinical judgment
Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
Attention to detail for credentialing, documentation, and certifications
