Roles & Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams across general, vascular, or cardiac fields for accurate interpretation
Exercise professional judgment while applying safety principles during procedures
Maintain detailed patient records and contribute to quality assurance efforts
Assist with invasive ultrasound procedures and care for equipment
Pursue ongoing education to stay ahead in a dynamic field
Support department operations including patient transfers and hygiene

Qualifications

Current ARDMS certification in at least one category (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
Ability to perform exams in two ultrasound fields like general/vascular or cardiac
Experience levels from Tech I to Tech IV based on ARDMS certifications

Education

Pursue continuing education for RDMS requirements; higher levels preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of growth and development principles across all patient ages from newborn to geriatric
Skills in diagnostic medical sonography and patient assessment
Ability to work under stress and adapt to various cultural backgrounds
Proficiency in ultrasound equipment care and procedural paperwork
