Roles & Responsibilities

Cover athletic events and after-school activities at a local high school
Prevent, evaluate, manage, and rehab athletic injuries through histories, physical exams, and personalized action plans
Communicate injury findings and recovery plans with athletes, parents, and coaches
Manage concussions from assessment to safe return-to-play protocols
Document all treatments and evaluations with precision
Analyze injury root causes to prevent future occurrences
Deliver occupational health services including POETs, desk assessments, and functional progress testing
Coordinate event coverage schedules seamlessly
Support the orthopedic clinic as a physician extender, handling histories, surgery scheduling, and patient education

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
1+ years of related work experience
Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin
Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
BLS certification
Valid driver's license

Education

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required

Knowledge & Skills

Intermediate to expert computer proficiency
Musculoskeletal examinations
Concussion evaluations
Emergency care and occupational health knowledge
Compassion, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills
Self-starter mindset with exceptional attention to detail
