Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Function independently within established protocols
Demonstrate competence in all unit tasks assigned by the RN
Exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy while upholding patient confidentiality

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist
Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience
BCLS Certification
National Certification (NBSTSA - CST, NCCT - TS-C, NCCT, or AST)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
Ability to function independently within protocols
Sound judgment and patient confidentiality
