Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
Triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately based on physical and psychosocial needs
Communicate effectively with ER physicians and mid-level providers on patient status changes
Respond quickly to patient condition changes or treatment responses
Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and allied health staff
Provide direction to emergency department techs and registration staff

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or obtained within 6 months of hire
2 years ER experience required
Degree from an accredited nursing program required

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program required
Bachelor’s of Nursing degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and procedures
Basic office skills and computer knowledge
IV skills
Ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment
Strong assessment skills
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
