Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population including oncology and trauma PCU/MedSurg patients
• Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including titrating drips like insulin and Cardizem
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and dietitians
• Utilize EPIC EMR to document and coordinate care seamlessly
• Float to other PCU and MedSurg units as needed, supporting the team with a smile
• Ensure hourly rounding and a patient-first approach to enhance the care experience

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/MedSurg experience; oncology experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• ACLS and BLS certifications required from AHA
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Ability to pass an open-book exam with 90% during orientation
• Driver's license required to verify 50-mile radius from Omaha

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in chemotherapy administration and handling (preferred)
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000)
• Comfortable with titrating insulin and Cardizem drips
• Skilled in EPIC electronic medical records
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations and cultural backgrounds
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
