Bill Rate: $25,000 sign-on; $10,000 relocation

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the Infection Prevention & Control Program: develop, implement, maintain, and update the IPC plan to align with CDC, OSHA, CMS, FDA, TJC, and APIC guidance
- Conduct surveillance, trend analysis, interpretation, and timely reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAI), including NHSN submissions
- Design, write, and implement policies and procedures that support rigorous infection prevention standards
- Provide education and training to staff, patients, families, and communities on IPC best practices and conduct new and annual employee IPC orientation
- Chair the IPC committee and collaborate across departments to integrate infection control into clinical and operational workflows
- Oversee the Employee Health program and provide support/resource assistance throughout the consortium
- Collect, analyze, and maintain infection control data and statistical reports to inform performance improvement and regulatory compliance
- Travel to regional sites to assess practices, deliver education, and support local teams
Qualifications
- Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start; agency staff must have an active Alaska license)
- Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) required
- BLS current within 3 months of hire and maintained biannually
- Minimum 3 years acute care or infection control experience and/or data collection, performance improvement or risk management experience
- Experience with basic statistics and epidemiologic principles
- Clinical Competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
- Manager Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required (nursing, public health, epidemiology, microbiology, or similar)
- Master's degree (MPH, MSN) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required (as noted in posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of epidemiology and infectious disease principles
- Experience with NHSN reporting and surveillance methodologies
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, trending, and reporting
- Strong skills in MS Office and database applications
- Project management and performance improvement methodology
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements and evidence-based practices into policy and education
- Clear, culturally aware communication tailored to diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
