Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure all surgical supplies and equipment are ready
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to deliver seamless care
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and document care accurately and timely
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices and clinical competency
• Communicate clearly with patients' families to support patient- and family-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio (required)
• Experience in the Operating Room and pediatric nursing (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS preferred
• Prior perioperative/OR experience and familiarity with sterile technique
• Ability to complete facility-required orientation and meet health/safety requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric perioperative care and patient/family-centered communication
• Aseptic technique and intraoperative infection prevention
• Familiarity with common OR instrumentation and supplies
• Strong teamwork, situational awareness, and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced surgical environment
