Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess and monitor patient condition using advanced pediatric critical care practices
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts when needed
• Educate and support families, helping them navigate care decisions with compassion
• Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient progress clearly and timely

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or ability to obtain licensure promptly
• Clinical experience in pediatric critical care or PICU preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with pediatric patients and families
• Willingness to participate in orientation and unit-specific training

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care and PICU-specific clinical skills
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Ability to prioritize and triage care in acute situations
• Skilled in family-centered communication and patient education
• Competence with electronic documentation and clinical workflows
