Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, documenting strips each shift
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with CHF, COPD, respiratory issues, GI disorders, diabetes, post-cath, and total joint replacements
• Administer set-rate drips such as Diltiazem/Cardizem and manage patient responses
• Collaborate with charge nurse, house supervisor, and interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Float to East Campus or PCU as needed to support hospital operations

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state (NLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% within two attempts prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry or med-surg experience preferred
• Experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement patients
• Cerner EMR experience highly recommended due to short orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and basic strip interpretation
• Cardiac nursing including post-cath care
• Medical-surgical nursing for diverse patient populations
• Proficiency in Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to titrate set-rate drips and manage cardiac drips
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
