Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) or night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), rotating weekends every 6 weeks

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, stroke, and medical-surgical cases
Titrate critical drips like heparin, insulin, and octreotide with precision
Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes promptly
Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and unit secretaries to ensure smooth patient flow
Manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges in a high-energy environment
Float to med/surg and other areas as needed to support the team

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU or telemetry experience preferred
Must pass an open-book exam on skills during orientation (90% required)
Driver's license required at submission to verify distance from facility
Positive attitude and team-player mindset essential

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
Skilled in titration of IV drips and managing complex medications
Comfortable with rapid admissions, transfers, and discharges
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptable to floating across different units
