Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient population including Oncology, PCU, and MedSurg patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor for adverse reactions with precision and confidence
• Titrate critical drips such as heparin, cardizem, and insulin to maintain patient stability
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to MedSurg and PCU units as needed, ensuring continuity of care
• Lead hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives to foster trust and healing

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Oncology experience (first-time travelers welcome!)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required at submittal)
• ONS/ONCC and Chemotherapy Certification (required)
• Valid driver's license to verify distance from facility
• EPIC experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in oncological nursing, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
• Skilled in PCU-level monitoring, telemetry, and titration of common drips (insulin, cardizem)
• Knowledge of ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan) – training provided if needed
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to thrive in a culturally diverse environment
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced mixed unit with ratios of 1:4 PCU and 1:5 MedSurg
