Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with complex medical conditions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, identifying cardiac changes promptly
• Titrate and manage IV drips (Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care
• Assess and respond to changes in patient status, including sepsis, stroke, and respiratory distress
• Educate patients and families on care plans and medications
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with arterial lines and high flow oxygen
• Competency in telemetry interpretation
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience preferred
• Flexibility and adaptability to float to MedSurg or ICU as needed
• Valid driver's license for radius verification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac, vascular, and renal failure patient management
• Skilled in high-flow oxygen therapy and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to titrate multiple IV drips safely
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Cultural sensitivity to serve diverse patient populations
