Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 05-28-2026

End Date: 08-27-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts; one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
Develop personalized treatment plans for patients recovering from TKA, THA, spinal surgery, CVA, and general medical conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery and functional outcomes
Document patient progress and adjust interventions to maximize rehabilitation potential
Support patients through their acute inpatient journey with evidence-based therapeutic approaches

Qualifications

Current California Physical Therapist license required
BLS certification required
Acute inpatient physical therapy experience essential
Strong clinical skills in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in acute inpatient physical therapy interventions
Knowledge of post-surgical protocols for joint replacements and spinal procedures
Understanding of stroke recovery and deconditioning rehabilitation
Ability to work effectively across multiple hospital units
Strong communication and documentation skills
