Roles & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and evaluate orthopedic conditions through comprehensive physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic imaging
• Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non-surgical approaches for optimal patient outcomes
• Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and arthroscopy
• Provide thorough pre-operative and post-operative care ensuring patient safety and recovery
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including primary care providers, physical therapists, and rehabilitation specialists
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage as part of the full-time orthopedic service
• Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records documenting evaluations, treatment plans, and surgical outcomes
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses and care plans
• Apply evidence-based practices and stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
• Valid Vermont medical license to practice as an orthopedic surgeon
• DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start)
• CPR for Healthcare Providers (must be obtained prior to start)
• Clean malpractice history
• Recent NPDB Self Query Report within 30 days
• Proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques and procedures
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented approach with commitment to patient safety
