Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from swing bed rehab to critical/trauma patients
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients efficiently
Titrate medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs and manage PICC lines and ports
Participate actively in codes: cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis
Respond to trauma cases and stabilize patients for transport
Float seamlessly between Med Surg and Emergency Department
Read and document EKG strips independently
Communicate directly with hospitalists and work with minimal supervision
Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate charting

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Proven emergency department experience
Ability to work independently with minimal staff
Comfortable floating between Med Surg and ER
Experience with titratable drips and code management

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in Meditech EMR
Skilled in reading EKGs and using Mindray monitors
Knowledge of EMTALA regulations
Ability to manage high-acuity patients and prioritize care
Strong communication and teamwork skills
